What an exciting day! Darlene here. Today I launch my fourth novel, a contemporary romance titled “Something Good.”
It’s about a young woman named Mandi who’s stumbled and derailed some life plans, and a talented, successful urban planner who finds more than he bargained for when he stops for a burger at the local diner where Mandi works.
As always, the book focuses on the development of a relationship between the characters who, I hope, seem like real people. There is mild profanity; sex scenes are not graphic.
I’m elated to report that early reviews are fantastic! Here are a few reviewer comments:
-- “This is a page-turner with depth and strong characters who rise above their own struggles and prejudices to become better people and do good for others. A beautiful, heartwarming story.”
-- “The story flowed so seamlessly that every time I told myself one more chapter, it turned into another and then another.”
-- “I loved this book.”
-- “How she (Mandi) gets through this dark period and sets a new course for her life make for a captivating read!”
Many thanks to all the advance reviewers who took time to read the book and write thoughtful reviews. For a sneak peek inside, remember you can read small portions of the book at Amazon or Smashwords.
