Darlene here with a quick update. Fall is definitely in the air today. It's turned cool and cloudy, and I'm seeing red and yellow in the trees. Didn't get around to planting mums this year, but I'm enjoying the autumn sedum.
It's fall of senior year for my son, so that means college visits, testing, writing essays, etc. My daughter is off doing cool research out of the country. I'm busy promoting the three novels I have published, working on a cover concept for a January release, and writing Book Two of the Women of Whitfield.
So, yeah, it's a little crazy around here!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by my author features and commented and who took a minute to read my guest author article on book clubs. And thanks to all the readers who joined Janice, Michelle and I at the public library in Belton, Mo. for a book signing. It was so much fun! We love to talk books and connect with readers like you! Looking forward to an event at Shawnee Book and Toys soon. We'll let you know when the date is set.
In a couple of weeks I'm scheduled to visit with a high school book club and discuss Unexpected Legacy. That'll be a first! I'm really looking forward to hearing what these kids have to say. I didn't write the novel as Young Adult, but it's definitely a crossover. According to Goodreads ratings, the high schoolers are enjoying it.
What really amazes me, is that I'm already slated for a library appearance in January, a guest blog in April and possibly an author appearance in Denver also in April. Those seem such a long way away. But I know they'll be here before I know it -- along with a new book (working title Something Good) and a high school graduation!
Looks like busy is the status quo, and it's not changing any time soon! Hope to see you out and about, or online!
As always, happy reading!
