Darlene here. See that pasty white skin in the photo at left? That's me, suffering from sun deprivation. In spite of the Summer Beach and Book Bash under way, looks like we’re kicking off summer with the June Monsoon – that wet, cloudy, dreary, cool season that reduces summer to only a couple of months around here. And we had such a loooong winter this year.
Sigh. The basement was just getting dried out.
Fireplace is leaking.
Flowers are drowning.
Peonies are flat on the ground.
Haven’t been able to put out the fun, colorful cushions on the patio furniture.
Summer is by far my favorite season. When everyone else is complaining about the heat, I’m finally warming up!
Okay, so I don’t enjoy a heavy humid sticky 100 degrees. But give me some sunshine. Please!! Perhaps my next book should be set in a tropical location. I’m thinking Bahamas, Belize, Hawaii. And I’ll need to do some serious research – in person!
